Obituary

Ms. Janice Loretha Cusack was born February 18, 1929, in Effingham, Florence County South Carolina to the Late Lonnie Cusack and Margie Etta Gregg Cusack.  She departed this life Tuesday March 25, 2025.

Janice attended Florence County public school and graduated from Pamplico Colored School.  She was an avid student and a documented basketball star!  She attended and joined Trinity A.M.E. Church at Hyman Pamplico, SC and was converted.  She Loved Trinity in particular giving it the motto "The little church with the big heart" and the A.M.E. Church in general.  She served as Church Secretary, Class Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, member of Stewardess Board, Gospel and Senior Choirs, as an Usher, Local WMS president, Florence Area Tanner Turner Memorial Chairperson, and Northeast Conference WMS Torch Lighter.  At various times she assumed the leadership role of various organizations.  She loved and served the Lord by studying the bible, praying, singing and encouraging others.  Her favorite Scripture is Psalms 31:1-5.

Janice was a member of Silver Star Chapter 251 of Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Rite of Adoption for the State of South Carolina and Jurisdiction over fifty years and The Sons and Daughters of Moses Lodge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Faye Cusack; siblings, Sisters Pensie Holman, Lonnie Mae Davenport, Christine Gregg Myers, Victoria Gregg, Lillie Mae Boatwright, Pauline McCormick, Helen "Bessie" Munnerlyn, Rosa Lee Hunter, brothers Magellan and Columbus Cusack; grandchildren:  William Timothy Cusack, Carolyn Bridget Cusack, Leverne MacArthur Cusack, Jr., and Karla Denise Walker.

Janice leaves to cherish her loving memories; six children,  John Charles (Myrtis) Cusack, Jacquelyn Selean Jackson, Leverne McArthur Cusack, Sr., Clyde Legrande (Joyce) Cusack, Milton Leon(Valerie) Cusack and Karen Maudester (Douglas) Walker; her bonus children includes George Mack, James Timmons, Willie Kelly, Janet and James McLeod, Donna Stone and family, Martha Ard and family, Sisters Hellen and Jennie Sue Jones, the Munn Family Albert, Karen, lance and Mark, Sam and Charlotte Finklea; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; Sadie Smith (sister of love); a host of nieces, nephews, family and numerous friends to cherish her memory and continue her legacy.
