The transitionary life came to a close on Saturday, August 17, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Rose Briggs Belin was born in Newark, New Jersey to the late William Briggs and Thelma Jones Briggs.
Rose grew up in Newark, NJ where she attended St. Rocco's, the family moved to Linden, NJ where Rose graduated from Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, NJ in 1976. Rose continued her education attending Virginia College with a degree in Business Administration. Rose has always been active in church while in New Jersey she sang on the choir at Second Baptist in Roselle, NJ. After relocating to South Carolina, she joined Trinity AME Church in Pamplico, SC.
Rose worked in the mortgage industry as an underwriter for many years; she relocated to South Carolina and worked as an Operations Unit Manager at JPMorgan Chase in Florence until her illness. Rose was a doting, loving grandmother to her six grandchildren. Rose was known as the "fun" Aunt. Rose had an energetic personality, and deeply loved her family and friends.
Rose is predeceased by her parents, brother; William Briggs, Jr., sisters; Alexis Briggs and Joanne Briggs Footman and father-in-law, Alfort Belin, Sr.
Remaining to cherish her memories: her loving, devoted husband, Anthony R. Belin, Sr.; sons, Anthony (Valerie) R. Belin, Jr., of Ohio, Joshua Belin, Sr. of South Carolina; sister, Lillian Briggs-Smith, mother-in-law, Minister Deborah Belin, aunt; Barbara Turner, brother-in-law, Rev. Dr. Alfort (Rena) Belin, Jr., of Georgia; sisters-in-law, H. Yetta Bennett, Joyce (Calvin) Wilkerson, Rev. Dale (James) Belin-Knight, Barbara Briggs all of New Jersey; Patricia (Starlin) Jasper of North Carolina, 6 grandchildren; goddaughter, LaShawntae Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
