Pauline was born in the Kingsburg community of Johnsonville, South Carolina Township to Eddie Lee “Hoss” Jones Jr. and Annie Eliza “Liza” Allison. She attended the Stuckey and Johnsonville public school systems. She was a member of the St Mark African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church her entire life. She was enrolled and participated in the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board program which gave her another opportunity for meeting, working, and socializing with others in addition to her church community. She lived most of her life at the family home until she moved to the independent living group home in Lake City, South Carolina. It is there using the skills learned from participating in the Disabilities Board program that she established her independence and flourished.
