ZELMA SMITH Obituary

Zelma Hyman-Smith, affectionally known to her loved ones as "Dug", was born to the late Jim Hyman and Mary Walker-Hyman.  She was born August 6, 1943, in Florence County.  She departed this earthly life April 12, 2021.

She was educated in the Florence school system and employed as a caregiver, until being called home.  She was joined in union to the late Joe Smith.

Zelma was a faithful member of Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Usher Board and Celestial Choir.  She loved her church and helped wherever she was needed.  A caring and loving individual she was, helping and caring for people and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Zelma leaves to cherish her precious memories:  one sister, Lillie Mae Green of Pamplico, SC; one brother, Lamar Hyman of Loris, SC; two special nieces she helped raise as her own, Lou Ann Hyman of Columbia, SC and Gail Williams of Florence, SC; a host of special nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces, nephews and other relatives.
